About Us
Scouting has been part of Denmead life since 1937 and today 1st Denmead Scout Group runs one of the largest groups in Hampshire with over 120 young people attending weekly meetings, activities and camps throughout the year.
Our Group and all its activities are run by volunteers, all of who make a huge difference to young people’s lives. We are always looking for new volunteers and whether you want to work with young people directly or help behind the scenes, there’s something for everyone at Scouts. Feel free to contact us for an informal discussion.

Our Policies & Reports
Each calendar year the Group is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to report our activities and status for the previous year to the Scout Association, Group Members and Parents/Guardians. In conjunction to the AGM the Groups accounts are audited by an independent qualified accountant.
The Group is also run by adhering to a number of important policies, all of which are key to safeguarding all of those involved.
The Scouts Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR) document contains full details however here are some key Group policies…
