District leaders or pyromaniacs?

Leaders from groups in the district took part in a variety of challenges at the district AGM. Denmead ran a firefighting base, where they had to light a fire using natural materials to burn through a piece of string in a set time. They could buy matches in exchange for points. Here they are working perfectly as a team ( well almost!)

Other bases tested them on knots, map reading and rifle shooting. Horndean leaders won the Norman Hart trophy.
Richard Garrard was presented with the Chief Scout’s Award of Merit for his many years of leadership with Denmead and Horndean Scout Groups? Well done to Richard.
After the business part of the meeting we all enjoyed a BBQ in the sun.
