Denmead Scouts Get Down on the Bowling Green

This week Spitfire Scouts went to Denmead Bowling Green for an introduction to Crown Green Bowling. Some may think this is a sport for the elderly but you have to be really flexible to play and there are lots of youth teams. But not in Denmead, and this is something the Denmead Bowling Club want to change.

They set up a number of different challenges and split us into small groups each with our own coach. We learnt about the bowls, bias and jacks and where given points depending on how well we did.

At the end we were treated to refreshments (cakes and sausage rolls) and 2 prizes were awarded for the highest point scorers, Nathaniel and Pip, so well done to them.

We all really enjoyed the evening and took away invites to a bring a parent day the Club are running soon.
