great day out to London on the train for our Sixers and seconders. They travelled…
Lots to tell today! Once again we were blessed with fantastic weather.
First Ethan and Will cycled up to the Boulangerie to get our bread for breakfast.
Then we drove to the old city of Blois and took a group pic by the river Loire.
We went to the Magic Museum which is a tribute to Robert Houdin who was also a demon inventor and clockmaker.
After this it was lunchtime and our Explorers were given money and let loose in the City centre to get lunch and do a self-guided walking tour. Us Leaders had a nice relaxing French lunch outside! I won’t mention which Explorers went to Subway. You know who you are!
Back in the car we set off for the Chocolate Factory. With our own (attractive) female tour guide we saw a few short videos of where the cocoa pods grew, harvesting and processing before shipping to France. The we saw the actual chocolate production process and got to do the best bit – the tasting! It was all very educational. Ask your Explorers what they learned at your peril! We were not allowed to take pictures unfortunately, but raided the shop so if they can bear not to eat what they bought, Parents can expect a nice surprise.
Then it was back home with a bit of banter and a pun competition for Boeuf Bourguignon for dinner.
Market day tomorrow.
